The founder
This isn't a sauce brand.
It's a Caribbean food company.
UMI was founded by Osei "Picky" Blackett, a Trinidadian chef and food entrepreneur based in New York. His cooking is shaped by Trinidad's bold, layered food culture — where sweet, heat and acidity are balanced to build real depth of flavor.
UMI exists to evolve Caribbean food beyond tradition and bring it onto retail shelves, into home kitchens, and into global food culture.
"This is not a sauce brand. This is a Caribbean food company."
